The Drowsy Chaperone is an exciting parody of 1920s American musical theater. This show within a show explores a middle-aged musical theater aficionado sitting in his apartment listening to the fictional 1928 broadway recording of The Drowsy Chaperone. As the musical comes to life in his apartment, we follow the story of two lovebirds, a bumbling best man, a desperate producer, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a Latin stereotype, a forgetful woman and her butler, an aviatrix, and, of course, the ever-intoxicated chaperone. What more could you need for an evening’s entertainment?
